Chickahominy Area Triad’s “Spring Fling” 17 April 2024
The Triad’s “Spring Fling” health, wellness, and safety fair was a remarkable success. The organization’s Chairperson, Danny Green, reported that twenty-nine (29) senior focused exhibitors or service providers were represented, coupled a one hundred and three (103) local area seniors and other community residents. He related that this was the first organizational community-wide since the COVID-19 epidemic. During his opening remarks, he thanked the events co-sponsors: Medicare Assistance & Counseling, Ringley State Farm Insurance, Senior Connections, Anthem HealthKeepers, Hopewell Baptist, and Samaira Baptist Church for their unwavering support. During the event attendees had an opportunity to mingle with the exhibitors, other attendees or just relax. The Chairperson further related that the “Spring Fling” event started with breakfast pastries, juice, fresh fruit, and coffee. Followed by a 35-40 minute session of chair exercises, which everyone enjoyed. During lunch baked and fried chicken, green beans, yams, potatoes salad, yeast bread rolls, apple cobbler and an assortment of drinks was served. He commented that no one left hungry. A total of fifty-five (55) door prizes were awarded, meaning almost 41% of the event’s attendees left with a door prize. In his closing remarks, he thanked everyone for coming out and expressed his gratitude to his fellow Triad member’s for a job well done.
